The Social Enterprise Support Fund reopens for applications from Monday 28 February to Thursday 24 March. It provides grants between £10k – £100k to help social enterprises rebuild from COVID-19. https://socialenterprisesupportfund.org.uk/

Social Enterprise’s are businesses, selling either a service or a product to make money. In many ways, a social enterprise is the same as any other business – they work hard to generate revenue, hire and fire employees and strive to make a profit.  But rather than focusing exclusively on the bottom line, they aim to make a positive social or environmental impact.

Today there are more than 100,000 social enterprises in the UK contributing £60bn to the economy and employ some two million people.  By creating positive social change, reinvesting their profits back into their business or the local community, social enterprise’s are changing their locality for the better.

They play a big part in providing services in North Tyneside, existing in nearly every sector.   They provide consumer goods, healthcare, green energy , building management,  creative activities, restaurants,  coffee shops, cinemas, schools, childcare, pubs, leisure centres, banks and transport.  Social Enterprise Specialist, Toni Clark
